I wanted to see Pollock’s Alchemy during my visit to Venice.
The painting felt much larger and more physical than I expected.

A guide explained that Alchemy contains sand, pebbles, fibers and fragments of wood embedded into the surface — 4.6 kilograms in total!
Conservation studies later found that some paint layers never fully completed their drying process.
